Day 8

Toby's Indian Adventure

I'm not sure how long I have been here now and it is nice not to have to worry. Towards the end of my stay I will have to start but not yet.

Saw Taj Mahal, nice but a bit of a let down but then things always are when they are built up. Red fort was nice. More random wandering through the realms of the lost. I met lots of children again who were most impressed with 'American Pie' as they wanted a song.

The Taj Mahal at Agra

I met Imran Kahn at the Yes restaurant which was quite fun as I passed through about three times in the day. Agra had a plague of little black flies in the afternoon. There were billions of them (were the written about in the guide books?). They covered everything and where everywhere. Luckily it only lasted for a couple of hours but the smog of Delhi was easier to handle. I get the 10:30 train to Varanasi which will take about 12 hours. It will be hell but it will get me out of Agra, where I have seen so many gems and carpets (which I must take back to England to give to their agent to earn £500 commission). Lots of chi but I didn't manage to become a courier. It has been good for my confidence in dealing with the locals.

I think I have had my towel stolen. So much for good Karma.
